Reilly Hovis to sign with Marlins on Friday, hopes to resume career in April 2016
Posted Jun 18, 2015
Reilly Hovis will make it official Friday when he signs a professional baseball contract with the Miami Marlins. It’ll end Hovis’ career at UNC after three years. But due to a season-ending elbow ligament injury on April 14, Hovis’ pro debut won’t come until April of 2016. “It's a little bittersweet,” Hovis said of having to rehab after elbow surgery after being the 9th round pick in last week’s Major League Draft.
