Shalane Flanagan sets the U.S. women's 10km road record

Ethiopian Ganet Yalew won the race, and Shalane Flanagan broke the U.S. 10km road record Sunday in the Rabobank Tillburg Ladies 10k. Flanagan clocked a time of 31 minutes, 3 seconds to break Lynn Jennings' U.S. record of 31:06, set in 1990. She finished second overall. Flanagan trains as part of the Portland-based Bowerman Track Club, and holds six U.S. records.
