Shalane Flanagan Named USATF Athlete Of The Week


Former Tar Heel runner was named USA Track & Field's Athlete of the Week after setting an American record in the women's 3,000 meters Saturday at the 2007 Reebok Boston Indoor Games. A 2004 Olympian and the 2005 USA Outdoor 5,000m champion, Flanagan ran 8:33.25 in the RBK women's 3,000 to bury Regina Jacobs' previous 3,000 AR of 8:39.14. (Tar Heel Blue)
