Yankees utility man Dustin Ackley to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery
Posted May 31, 2016
Yankees utility man Dustin Ackley will undergo surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder this week, ending his season. It’s unclear whether Ackley will be ready for the start of next season, but manager Joe Girardi said he hopes the infielder/outfielder will be “close to ready” next spring.
The Yankees will use Austin Romine as the backup first baseman for the immediate future.
