St. Louis Cardinals sign Daniel Bard to minor-league deal

The St. Louis Cardinals have signed former Red Sox reliever Daniel Bard to a minor-league deal, according to Baseball America. The 30-year-old righthander joined the Pittsburgh Pirates in spring training but was released before the season started. Bard, Boston's first-round pick in the 2006 draft, last pitched for the Red Sox in 2013.
