Gov. Roy Cooper delivered the University Day keynote address Thursday. He spoke about remaining positive in a time when it is easy to be discouraged and about the importance of public education. Cooper's speech was part of the celebration of UNC's 224th birthday — a day which marks the laying of the cornerstone of Old East, the oldest building on campus.
