Charlotte Hornets fire head coach Steve Clifford after 5 seasons

The Charlotte Hornets have fired head coach Steve Clifford after five seasons. New President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Mitch Kupchak, introduced earlier this week, announced the news Friday. Clifford went 196-214 in his time with the franchise, and the Hornets made the playoffs twice in his five seasons. They lost in the first round both years.
