Andrew Miller and Daniel Bard, a pair of flame-throwing pitchers from the University of North Carolina were both taken in the first round of the 2006 MLB Draft. Miller was taken with the sixth pick in the draft by the Detroit Tigers. Many experts felt Miller would be taken with the top pick overall, but signability appeared to be a problem. Miller's agent is Scott Boras. The Boston Red Sox selected Bard with the 28th pick in the draft.
