Shalane Flanagan: “I Think This Was My Last Boston Marathon”

For Shalane Flanagan, 36, who won the 2017 New York City Marathon in November, the experience was frustrating, placing seventh in 2:46:31. A native of Marblehead, Massachusetts, she wanted to give her hometown race one more try after three prior attempts that left her unsatisfied. Her best finish was in 2013—fourth place.
