Heels confident heading into NCAA golf tournament
Posted May 31, 2006
The North Carolina men's golf team didn't win the regional title while qualifying for the NCAA Championships that begin today in Oregon, but that doesn't mean the Tar Heels aren't capable of winning the national title. "The main goal at regionals was just to finish in the top 10 and make it to NCAAs," UNC senior Jonathan Jackson said. "One of our goals as a team is to win a national championship." UNC is led by junior Martin Ureta and freshman Robert Riesen, both all-ACC selections.
