Of all seven teams that Mike Fox has brought to the College World Series in Omaha, this one most bore a resemblance to the very first squad in 2006, not in terms of talent, but in its youth and novelty of this grand event. When Kyle Datres drove a 2-1 pitch over the left field wall and just inside the foul pole, there was an unbridled joy on display in the Tar Heels’ celebration.
