Drake Powell continues to rise in the ESPN rankings, the other five UNC men's and women's basketball recruits all dropped. ESPN has changed Powell from a 4-star to a 5-star and elevated him from 34th in the Class of 2024 to 12th.

Bella Ragone announced that she has received an offer from North Carolina. Ragone, a 6-foot-2 wing from Hoschton, Georgia, is a 4-star recruit ranked No. 20 in the 2026 class in the latest HoopGurlz rankings. Ragone also holds offers from Harvard, Baylor, Texas Tech, Louisville, Florida State, Northwestern, TCU, Auburn, Villanova, Illinois, and more. (

Lanie Grant can't believe it happened. The standout guard became the first basketball player in James River High School history to win a Gold Medal when her team won the FIBA Women's Americas Championship in Mexico. Courtney Banghart has offered 6–2 wing McKenna Woliczko (who ESPN ranks No. 4 in the class), 6–0 guard Trinity Jones (No. 6) and 6–1 guard Jacy Abii (No. 9). Banghart apparently liked what she saw when she traveled to Mérida, Mexico, and saw the class of 2026 trio play in the FIBA Women’s U16 Americas Championship. (
