Virginia plays defensively sound and offensively opportunistic basketball, forcing teams to execute the length of the shot clock. It’s a tedious mental chore, especially for a Tar Heel team that plays at one of the nation’s top tempos. The Cavaliers forced UNC to play those few extra seconds that it wasn’t accustomed to playing, and the method paid off.
