Asked to rate Tyler Hansbrough's freshman season, Maryland coach Gary Williams said, "Right there with Joe Smith's," who was ACC Freshman of the Year, then national player of the year as a sophomore. Hansbrough appreciated the compliment but admitted, "I don't know who Joe Smith is." (Charlotte Observer)
