Chase Rice thankful for career stumbles as he eyes first No. 1 hit

Chase Rice knew that his song “Eyes on You” was his ticket to the top. Rice described it as: “The freshman on the football team that everybody knows is going to be the best player, but he’s not there yet.” Fitting for a man who at 32 years old had been a linebacker for UNC, a NASCAR pit crew member for Hendrick Motorsports, and a reality television star.
