Tar Heel Firsts: UNC’s first NCAA Basketball Tournament


In 1941, the third year of the NCAA tournament, the team now second all-time in tournament appearances, the North Carolina Tar Heels made their first ever trip to the “Big Dance.” had come to UNC in 1936 as an assistant football coach.
