Mack Brown facing familiar foe in Appalachian State

Mack Brown began his football head coaching career in 1983 at Appalachian State but only led the program one season before leaving to be offensive coordinator at Oklahoma. Despite being just across the state from each other, there is not much history between UNC and the Mountaineers. The two programs have only faced off once, in 1940.
