Coach out to revive career

Matt Doherty says he's wiser now. He says he has learned to work smarter. His days at North Carolina mellowed him, but he's still animated and intense during a game. The lessons he learned haven't healed old wounds, though. Before accepting the UNC job in July 2000, Doherty says he told Tar Heels Athletic Director Dick Baddour to expect hard times, especially since departed coach Bill Guthridge had done a poor job recruiting.
