Tar Heels dismiss wide receiver Mason
Posted Dec 9, 2005
Wide receiver Mike Mason has been dismissed from North Carolina's football team for a violation of team rules, the school announced Thursday. Mason, who made 22 receptions for 313 yards as a freshman and 19 catches for 272 yards as a sophomore, had been waiting for his chance to shine. "I was telling Derrele, Jarwarski and Wallace: When they leave next year, I can't wait," Mason joked back in October.
