When the buzzer sounded following North Carolina’s 94-71 victory against Miami on Saturday — the 880th victory of Roy Williams’ career — the fans waited for something to commemorate the milestone moment, which finally moved Williams ahead of his mentor Dean Smith on the all-time wins list. But there was no ceremony or mid-court wave to the crowd.
