Fueled by defense and fast breaks, North Carolina simply wore down scrappy UC Santa Barbara for a 83-66 victory in front of 17,305 Friday night at the Smith Center. Tyler Hansbrough led four teammates in double figures to send the Tar Heels cruising into Tuesday’s rematch of the 2005 national championship with No. 15 Illinois. (Inside Carolina)
