March 23, 1997: UNC beats Louisville, 97-74, in Syracuse to advance to what would be Dean Smith's final Final Four - and his final win - as head coach at North Carolina. Louisville actually cut Carolina's lead to six with just under 10 minutes remaining, but Carolina went on a 28-8 run and that was that. Shammond Williams led UNC with 22 points.
