Ames school district discusses naming Ames High gymnasium after Harrison Barnes

The new Ames High gymnasium could be named after Harrison Barnes, an NBA player and former Ames High athlete who helped bankroll its construction. Superintendent Jenny Risner presented the proposal to the school board during a virtual meeting on Monday, citing Barnes’ contributions to both the school district and community of Ames, Iowa.
