Tar Heels pluck Eagles

North Carolina put a little bit of everything into its potentially season-changing 16-14 victory against 19th-ranked Boston College Saturday in sun-bathed Kenan Stadium. There was a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Wallace Wright to start the game. There were quarterback Matt Baker and wide receiver Jesse Holley making like Troy Aikman and Michael Irvin, playing throw and catch in their own world. There was a strong defensive effort that never allowed Boston College to take command.
