It certainly wasn’t the prototypical recruitment for UNC’s new football commitment. In fact, not long ago it seemed almost likely that his future on the next level would be with another sport, basketball. But his performance this season on the gridiron for Pope High School in Marietta, Georgia, has completely changed T.J. Yates’ outlook as he has accepted a scholarship offer from North Carolina.
