Long passes, Newsome ignite UNC’s offense and Carter, Williams run by Virginia Tech
Posted Oct 10, 2020
Both North Carolina running backs scored two touchdowns, with Michael Carter running for 214 yards and Javonte Williams for 169 yards. They were the first pair of Tar Heels to rush for 100 or more yards in a game since Elijah Hood (220 yards) and T.J. Logan (100) did it against N.C. State in 2015. Carter’s total was the highest since Hood’s effort that day.
