Roy Williams heads to California for a recruiting gold rush
Posted Oct 12, 2005
California, the Los Angeles area in particular, continues to be a good source of top-flight basketball talent for North Carolina coach Roy Williams. His latest L.A. success story is Alex Stepheson, a 6-foot-9, 220-pound center at Harvard-Westlake High in Studio City. Stepheson announced Tuesday his decision to attend North Carolina. A week earlier, Deon Thompson (6-8, 250) of nearby Torrance picked the Tar Heels.
