Last year's North Carolina basketball team had a host of issues that were significantly different than this year's group. And with all of the issues this year's group had, it was still clear it had far more going for it than last year's group did. But when last year's team got to the new year, they were 8-5. This team's record when the calendar flipped was 5-4.
