Reserve defensive lineman Khalif Mitchell of North Carolina thought he would be trying to block an extra-point attempt when he sprinted onto the field last October with 14 seconds left against N.C. State. Instead, he ended up blocking Wolfpack running back T.A. McLendon's path to the end zone, preventing a touchdown and preserving the Tar Heels' 30-24 victory.
