The Confounding Case of UNC's Defense

UNC is on track to post its best adjusted defensive efficiency metric in more than a decade. The Tar Heels lead the ACC and rank 14th nationally in KenPom’s adjusted defensive efficiency ratings in allowing 90.1 points per 100 possessions. Even so, the concept that UNC possesses one of the nation’s best defenses seems contradictory for observers.
