Bahamas trip to help freshmen acclimate
Posted Sep 2, 2005
Roy Williams couldn't have picked a better time to schedule a foreign trip. The top seven scorers off North Carolina's NCAA champion basketball team are gone. Five scholarship freshmen need to adjust to prominent roles quickly. "It's very important," said North Carolina forward David Noel. "It's definitely going to get us familiar with each other in a real game kind of setting." North Carolina was scheduled to practice four times this week to prepare for the trip, and had to get a special waiver from the NCAA just to go.
