UNC Football's history as a preseason top ten team

Let’s look back at the other three times a UNC football team has made the preseason AP top ten. The last time it happened was the final season of the first Mack Brown tenure in Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels were voted No. 7 to start the 1997 season. Carolina lived up to that ranking, settling in at five for the high-profile matchup against No. 3 Florida State.
