A hard lesson learned

Former University of North Carolina football coach Bill Dooley likes to say that recruiting is just a part of the equation. Retention is equally, or more, important because it doesn't really matter who signs if he isn't there to play a year or two down the road. But the kids who have taken off during the last couple of years, voluntarily or otherwise, have been Bunting's recruits. Far too many of them were excellent prospects who could have helped this team remain a winner in what may be a difficult season ahead.
