Sam Howell to Play in North Carolina's Bowl Game vs. South Carolina

North Carolina junior quarterback Sam Howell will play in the Duke's Mayo Bowl, a source confirmed Monday. The Tar Heels face South Carolina on Dec. 30 in Charlotte. The news was first reported by David Hale of ESPN. Howell's 2021 season numbers stand at 205-for-327 (63 percent) for 2,851 passing yards, 23 touchdowns, and nine interceptions.
