Raymond Felton’s future is in Charlotte
Posted Jun 29, 2005
The latest chapter of Raymond Felton’s storybook life will take place in a familiar setting. The Charlotte Bobcats kept the Latta native close to home by making him the fifth overall selection in the 2005 NBA draft. Tuesday’s draft marks the culmination of a storied amateur career for Felton, who led Latta to consecutive Class A state championships. After high school Felton spurned the NBA to follow his dream of playing at the same school as his childhood idols, Rasheed Wallace and Vince Carter. Now, Felton will go head-to-head with them as a hero to the children of his hometown.
