Roy Williams courted for Lakers position
Posted Jun 15, 2005
Phil Jackson was their No. 1 choice, but the Los Angeles Lakers talked to several big-time coaches to see if they were interested in the job, including North Carolina's Roy Williams. "We were just calling to see if he was interested; we hadn't offered anything yet."
