In addition to evening the score against the Tar Heels and welcoming first-year North Carolina coach Hubert Davis to Raleigh — Davis went 1-3 against NC State in Raleigh as a UNC player — State would love to stick a pin in the Tar Heels’ hopes for an NCAA Tournament bid. An NCAA bid for the Wolfpack is off the table, save for an ACC Tournament title.
