James Worthy was the 1982 National Player of the Year, two-time first-team All-America, two-time first-team All-ACC, 1982 ACC Athlete of the Year, and helped lead the Tar Heels to consecutive appearances in the national championship game, winning the title in 1982. He is enshrined in the College Basketball Hall of Fame and the Naismith Hall of Fame.
