Alex Stepheson could play next season


The process could get complicated, but there is a route for former UNC basketball player to become immediately eligible at another Division I NCAA school for the 2008-09 season. The normal one-season, sit-out rule for transfer players could be waived in cases when the player changes schools and the second school appeals to the NCAA for, and is granted, a waiver of the one-year residency rule.
