Mighty Casey strikes when Heels need him

Despite being a true freshman and a walk-on, Casey Barth was impressive enough to win a share of the Tar Heels’ kicking job in his first attempt. He rewarded coach Butch Davis for his faith by converting all five extra point attempts on Aug. 30 in UNC’s season-opening 35-27 win against McNeese State. “This is something I always wanted to happen. It was like my dream."
