Sometimes the trajectory of a college football program can be made or broken by a single result. Saturday felt like one of those days. In the span of a few hours, about 100 miles apart, UNC and N.C. State confronted defining moments. The Tar Heels rose to the challenge. State crumbled. And with that a pair of programs, took drastically contrasting turns.
