The injury won't require surgery, but Yates' status won't be revisited for at least six weeks, meaning the Tar Heels will have to rely on junior Cameron Sexton or redshirt freshman Mike Paulus heading into Saturday's game at Miami and beyond. Butch Davis didn't name a starter Monday, instead saying he is evaluating both quarterbacks to determine which would be a better fit for the scheme heading into the Miami game.
