Player of the year Brandon Tate, wide receiver, North Carolina: The ACC's most dangerous big-play threat has touchdowns via reception (three), rush and punt return. He leads the conference with 194.6 all-purpose yards per game. Nobody else is even close. Game of the year: Virginia Tech at UNC: T.J. Yates fractured his ankle. Backup Mike Paulus bumbled, the Tar Heels stumbled and Virginia Tech overcame a 14-point deficit to win 20-17.
