Charlie Scott’s significance to his school and the ACC goes far beyond basketball. He broke the color barrier as the first black scholarship athlete in UNC history. Charlie Justice was so good and such a big part of the Tar Heels’ football heritage that they paint the 22-yard lines at Kenan Stadium Carolina blue as a tribute to him and his old jersey number.
