Washington Commanders hoping Sam Howell can end long quarterback search

If Sam Howell hits, even if he’s just solid, then the Commanders can finally scratch "find a quarterback" off their to-do list each offseason. Since Kirk Cousins last played in Washington in 2017, the franchise has started 12 quarterbacks due to a combination of injuries and ineptitude. In Ron Rivera’s three seasons, the Commanders have started eight.
