Butch Davis decides to let Sexton, Yates compete for QB job
Posted Nov 18, 2008
After meeting with his coaching staff late Sunday night, Butch Davis has changed his mind. Turns out, North Carolina will open its quarterback position for competition between T.J. Yates and Cameron Sexton in advance of the No. 25 Tar Heels' grudge match against N.C. State on Saturday at Kenan Stadium (noon, WRAL). "We are not going to name a starter until this Saturday," UNC's coach said Monday, shortly before he met with both quarterbacks.
