The Smith Center has been on the chopping block for more than 10 years. So, are you among those who think the 38-year-old Smith Center is on life support? It has been since before Dean Smith passed away in 2015. Talks were going on about renovating or rebuilding before then. But where to build it? There is no empty land on or adjacent to campus.
