Hakeem Nicks’ Heroics Not Enough for Heels

Two late North Carolina turnovers and a porous defense allowed West Virginia to overcome a fourth-quarter deficit, as well as ’ tantalizing career performance, to defeat the Tar Heels, 31-30, at the Meineke Car Care Bowl on Saturday. “It’s disappointing to lose the game, but I’m very proud of this football team and the strides that we’ve made,” UNC coach told reporters during his post-game press conference.
