North Carolina Responds, Avoids Season-Opening Disaster

The No. 9 Tar Heels did enough to overcome Elon, 90-76, in the season opener at the Smith Center but fell short of producing a show-stopping performance. R.J. Davis supplied 24 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists, and Elliot Cadeau added 17 points and eight assists as UNC avoided disaster to improve to 103-12 all-time in season-openers.
