UNC Football was expected to sign three-star defensive back Julien Horton after he committed to the Tar Heels. However, on signing day, Horton flipped his decision and signed with the West Virginia Mountaineers. The firing of UNC coach Mack Brown undoubtedly affected the recruitment of the nation's No. 56-ranked safety, from Bel Air, Maryland.
